About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on full-stack development lead to own the design, development and delivery of client implementations on our AI-driven platform. Our software goes live inside banks, NBFCs and financial institutions, and every go-live is a project with a client on the other side of it.
You will work closely with the architect, AI engineers, infrastructure teams and product to deliver intelligent, secure and highly available solutions. As a technical leader you will drive engineering excellence, mentor junior developers, and champion AI-assisted development practices while remaining hands-on in the code.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical design and delivery
Architecture and implementation of client-facing implementations, end to end from design through deployment and production handover.
Build scalable services
Microservices and distributed systems in Python — or Java or Go where it earns its place.
Own the full stack
Backend services plus the frontend the client actually uses — React / Next.js, TypeScript, responsive delivery.
Mentor the team
Code reviews, pair programming, design discussions and raising engineering practice for three to six engineers.
Integrate AI into delivery
Work with the AI/ML function to embed LLMs, agents and AI-powered services into client applications.
Design the interfaces
Scalable REST APIs, event-driven systems and asynchronous messaging against bank and NBFC systems.
Own scope and go-live
Estimate, commit, raise risk early; cutover planning, hypercare and a real handover to production support.
Champion AI-assisted development
Use and set the standard for Claude Code, Copilot and Cursor in day-to-day engineering.
Feed the product
Decide what a client asked for that belongs in the product, and route it there instead of forking.
What You Bring
- 8–10 years building and delivering software, including 2+ years leading a squad through production go-live.
- Strong proficiency in Python; Java or Go additionally is welcome. FastAPI and async service design in production.
- Microservices, REST APIs and distributed systems you have designed, not just worked in.
- Hands-on full-stack capability — React / Next.js and TypeScript; Node.js and the MERN stack is relevant experience.
- Strong PostgreSQL — schema design, query tuning, migrations; plus caching (Redis) and messaging.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
- Client-facing ownership: scope, estimate, escalation and the difficult conversation about a date.
- Integration experience against banking or financial systems, including sandbox and approval realities.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as part of how you work.
What Would Be Great to Have
- Exposure to LLMs, AI agents, RAG or MCP, or prior AI-platform development.
- Infrastructure as code — Terraform or Ansible — and a working understanding of networking.
- On-premise deployment at client data centres.
- Lending, payments, collections or onboarding domain depth.
- Pre-sales and solution-estimation support.
- Experience of the forward-deployed engineer model.
